YOU DEARLY NEED – THE FAITH AT REST – THE FAITH ASSURED

YOU DEARLY NEED – THE FAITH AT REST – THE FAITH ASSURED – AND THE SPIRIT REFRESH: IT’S MADE POSSIBLE BY PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT – THAT’S THE SYNERGY! 

“The spirit of a man will SUSTAIN him in sickness (INFIRMITIES), But who can BEAR a BROKEN spirit?” Proverbs 18:14. 

“A MERRY heart (spirit) doeth GOOD like a medicine: but a BROKEN spirit DRIETH the bones” Proverbs 17:22. 

When your FAITH is at rest, your SPIRIT-BEING and WELL-BEING are at rest — then you are ASSURED of your daily triumph no matter what; but when your faith is troubled, your spirit is troubled — then your ASSURANCE and CONFIDENCE of triumph dwindles. 

And FAITH is of the WORD which is spiritual and is of the Holy Spirit in your spirit, which, when not tended to and looked after, leads to stress and depression and all forms of fear and PHOBIA in your human spirit-being. 

STRESS is a result of having limited capacity to deal with our various life challenges — be it family, work, career, ministry, business, academics, relationships, leadership and more. 

You need to know full well that you are a spirit-being (spiritual), with a soul (mind, emotions, will and intellect) and living in a body (humus — physical) — 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 4:12; Proverbs 20:27; Job 32:8; Job 33:4; Genesis 2:7. 

However, there is good news, for God has given us a means of synergy to enhance us with the grace of rest to deal with all factors that result in stress. It is called — PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT — that is, PRAYING BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, which means SPEAKING FORTH IN OTHER TONGUES — that is, in spiritual tongues/languages to be precise. 

And you need to engage and use it to do and live life. In it you will be REFRESHED, REAWAKENED, RENEWED, REKINDLED, SYNERGISED and AFLAME to enjoy a stress- and depression-free life in Christ Jesus. Amen.

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT: 

“For with stammering lips and ANOTHER TONGUE will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the REST wherewith ye may cause the WEARY to REST; and this is the REFRESHING: yet they would not hear” Isaiah 28:11-12. 

“For if I PRAY in an UNKNOWN TONGUE, my spirit prayeth but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is it then? I will PRAY with the spirit, and I will PRAY with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding” 1 Corinthians 14:14-15. 

“Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness (corruption, stupidity), but BE FILLED with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him” Ephesians 5:18. 

“But you, beloved, BUILD yourselves up on [the foundation of] your most holy FAITH [continually progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], PRAY in the Holy Spirit, 21 and keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously and looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ [which will bring you] to eternal life” Jude 1:20-21. 

“PRAYING ALWAYS with ALL PRAYER and supplication IN THE SPIRIT, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” Ephesians 6:18. 

“If you FAINT in the day of ADVERSITY, Your STRENGTH is SMALL” Proverbs 24:10. 

“The spirit of man is the CANDLE of the Lord, SEARCHING all the INWARD parts of the belly (BEING)” Proverbs 20:27 (Emphasis Mine). 

“But THERE is a spirit in man: and the INSPIRATION of the Almighty GIVETH them understanding” Job 32:8. 

“The Spirit of God hath MADE me, and the BREATH of the Almighty hath GIVEN me life” Job 33:4. 

“In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness [INFIRMITIES]. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words. 27 And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will” Romans 8:26-27. 

“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead DWELL in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also QUICKEN (GIVE LIFE TO) your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you . . .14 For as MANY as are LED by the Spirit of God, they are the SONS of God” Romans 8:9-11, 14 (Emphasis Mine).

This is presented as the synergy God has given to deal with stress and to sustain victorious daily living in Christ.

1. THE CONDITION OF THE SPIRIT DETERMINES YOUR TRIUMPH

• When your FAITH IS AT REST, your SPIRIT-BEING and WELL-BEING are at rest. The result is ASSURANCE and CONFIDENCE of daily triumph, regardless of circumstances. 

• When your faith is troubled, your spirit is troubled. This leads to a dwindling of assurance, and opens the door to stress, depression, fear and PHOBIA. 

• Scripture backing: “The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?” Proverbs 18:14. “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” Proverbs 17:22. 

2. THE ROOT OF STRESS: LIMITED CAPACITY

• STRESS is a result of having limited capacity to handle life’s challenges — family, work, career, ministry, business, academics, relationships, and leadership. 

• Man is a tripartite being: a spirit-being who has a soul and lives in a body. “…spirit and soul and body…” 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Your spirit must be tended to, because faith comes from the Word and is ministered to by the Holy Spirit in your spirit.  

3. GOD’S PROVIDEDSYNERGY: PRAYINGIN THE SPIRIT 

• The good news is that God has given us a means to access the grace of rest. 

• It is called PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT — that is, PRAYING BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, which is SPEAKING FORTH IN OTHER TONGUES, spiritual languages. 

• This is not optional. You must engage it to do and live life effectively. 

4. THE RESULTS OF PRAYINGINTHE SPIRIT 

When you pray in the Spirit you are: 
REFRESHED, REAWAKENED, RENEWED, REKINDLED, SYNERGISED and AFLAME. 
The outcome is a stress- and depression-free life in Christ Jesus.
