NO MORE FISHING ON YOUR HURT: FORGIVENESS AND FORGETFULNESS – MADE POSSIBLE IN THE JUSTIFICATION OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS’ STEAD – IN OUR REDEMPTION! 

“When a man’s ways PLEASE the Lord, He MAKETH even his ENEMIES to be at PEACE with him” Proverbs 16:7. 

Are you struggling to FORGIVE and FORGET? Are you one of those who CAN FORGIVE but CAN’T FORGET, or who CAN’T FORGIVE and CAN’T FORGET? Do you still go FISHING in the PAST to hunt and hurt the PRESENT? I mean cutting off your nose to spite on your face? Do you want to live WHOLE again – free from bitterness, anger, wrath, revenge, rancour and such like? There i is hope in REDEMPTION. You can POSSESS your WHOLENESS in Redemption again; For it i is all MADE possible in OUR REDEMPTION RIGHTS and PRIVILEGES in CHRIST JESUS’’ stead. AMEN. 

In today’s society – individuals, families, businesses, communities, and nations, government and governance – are being ruined every day and every way because of the inability to FORGIVE and to FORGET; and to move FORWARD, which is an ONWARD and UPWARD trajectory, in God’s given grace to succeed. 

The ability to forgive YOURSELF, forgive OTHERS and accept GOD’S forgiveness will guarantee you the graciousness and gracefulness to live WHOLE in FORGETFULNESS and become free from the cancerous monster of BITTERNESS, RANCOUR, REVENGE, WRATH, WICKEDNESS and such like. You can set yourself FREE from nursing and living on hurt, through God’s unconditional LOVE that surpasses and transcends human comprehension and understanding as displayed in Christ Jesus’ LOVE – a love that is without sentiment, prejudice and dissimulation. You can then take the step of love in faith to INTENTIONALLY and PRAGMATICALLY hand over the hurt and haunting of not forgiving and not forgetting to God in Christ Jesus, who has justified all – including you – in love. This is the pathway to deal with the spirit of not forgiving and forgetting – and this is applicable to all, in all matter of doing life and living godly in the context of the scripture, and not according to our own wish or intention that results in revenge, evil and wickedness. 

“May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], [17] so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in LOVE, [18] be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His LOVE [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]; [19] and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the LOVE of Christ which far SURPASSES [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself]” Ephesians 3:16-19/Amplified. 

“There is NO FEAR in love; but PERFECT love casteth out fear: because FEAR hath TORMENT. He that FEARETH is not MADE perfect in love” 1 John 4:18. 

I make bold to say that to be WHOLE in spirit, soul and body, the antidote to forgive and forget with ease is to let JUSTIFICATION in God’s love in Christ Jesus play the means, the definitional route and the role in all forms of FORGIVENESS. That is the gateway to FORGETFULNESS in moving FORWARD – that is, ONWARDS and UPWARDS – on what God DID in Christ Jesus for us all to be WHOLE again in Him. 

“Therefore being JUSTIFIED by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 by whom also we have ACCESS by faith into this GRACE wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” Romans 5:1-2. 

He did not only FORGIVE us IN our sins and shortfalls – –  evils and wickedness and more – but He JUSTIFIED us, which is the antidote, so that we CAN now access Him in our UPWARDS, INWARDS and ONWARDS day to day life of grace. 

To JUSTIFY is to declare you guiltless, discharged and free -that is, to be ACQUITTED, as if you’ve never done what you’ve been accused of or have done. This is what God accomplished by the eternal DONE DEED of Christ in our REDEMPTION; to set us free with NO FISHING NET of REMEMBRANCE attached; in order to erase our PAST, wherein our iniquity has been buried in the sea of FORGETFULNESS.

Hence to say that the New Creation in Christ has no PAST. And when you act in the same spirit towards others, you will live free of BITTERNESS, ANGER, WRATH, FEAR, WORRY, REVENGE and such; otherwise it hunts and hurts as a cancerous disease in the one who refuses to both FORGIVE and FORGET. 

NO MORE FISHING ON YOUR HURT – FORGIVENESS and FORGETFULNESS ARE POSSIBLE IN REDEMPTION!

SUMMARY 
The message is a redemptive declaration and call to wholeness through the JUSTIFICATION we have in Christ Jesus. It teaches that FORGIVENESS and FORGETFULNESS are not human striving, but the direct fruit of God’s DONE DEED in REDEMPTION. When we embrace our identity as a NEW CREATION with no PAST, we are set free from BITTERNESS, WRATH, REVENGE and every cancerous hurt, and we begin to walk UPWARDS, INWARDS and ONWARDS in God’s grace.

KEY POINTS 

1. THE FOUNDATION: JUSTIFICATION IN CHRIST

• God did not only FORGIVE us, He JUSTIFIED us. To JUSTIFY is to declare you guiltless, discharged and ACQUITTED, as if you’ve never sinned. 

• This was accomplished by the eternal DONE DEED of Christ. In REDEMPTION there is NO FISHING NET OF REMEMBRANCE attached. Our iniquity is buried in the sea of FORGETFULNESS – Micah 7:18-19. 

• Because of this, the New Creation in Christ HAS NO PAST – 2 Corinthians 5:17. We now have ACCESS into GRACE and PEACE with God – Romans 5:1-2.

2. THE PROBLEM: “FISHING ON YOUR HURT”

• Refusing to FORGIVE and FORGET becomes a cancerous disease that hunts and hurts the one carrying it. 

• It produces BITTERNESS, ANGER, WRATH, FEAR, WORRY, REVENGE, RANCOR and WICKEDNESS. 

• Many can FORGIVE but CAN’T FORGET, or CAN’T do either. Going back to the PAST to hurt the PRESENT is like “cutting off your nose to spite your face.”

3. THE ANTIDOTE: GOD’S LOVE AND REDEMPTION RIGHTS

• The antidote to forgive and forget with ease is to let JUSTIFICATION in God’s love in Christ Jesus define all forms of FORGIVENESS. 

• God’s love in Christ Jesus is unconditional, without sentiment, prejudice or dissimulation. PERFECT LOVE casts out FEAR and TORMENT – 1 John 4:18. 

• We are to intentionally hand over hurt to God, and walk in our REDEMPTION RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES in Christ Jesus.

4. THE CALL TO ACTION: LIVE WHOLE AND RECONCILED

• Forgive YOURSELF, forgive OTHERS, and accept GOD’S forgiveness. This guarantees you graciousness to live WHOLE in FORGETFULNESS. 

• Act in the same spirit towards others. When a man’s ways PLEASE the Lord, He makes even his ENEMIES to be at PEACE with him – Proverbs 16:7. 

• OVERCOME evil with good: FEED your enemy, GIVE drink to the thirsty, BLESS those who curse you, PRAY for those who persecute you – Romans 12:20-21, Matthew 5:44. 

• Be AMBASSADORS of RECONCILIATION, not carriers of revenge – 2 Corinthians 5:18-20. 

• Be rooted and grounded in LOVE, and experience the width, length, height and depth of Christ’s LOVE – Ephesians 3:16-19.

5. THE RESULT: WHOLENESS AND FORWARD MOVEMENT

• Wholeness in spirit, soul and body comes when we move FORWARD — ONWARDS and UPWARDS — on what God DID in Christ. 

• Individuals, families, businesses, communities and nations are ruined daily because of the inability to FORGIVE and FORGET. Redemption offers the way out. 
   

CALL TO ACTION 

1. STOP FISHING ON YOUR HURT.
   Make a decision today: NO MORE digging up the PAST. Let God bury it in the sea of FORGETFULNESS.

2. RECEIVE AND WALK IN JUSTIFICATION.  
   Declare daily: “I am guiltless, discharged and free in Christ.” Let that truth govern how you treat yourself and others.

3. CHOOSE LOVE IN ACTION.  
   Pray for those who hurt you. Bless them. Feed them. Refuse revenge. Let God’s love through you be the proof of your redemption.

4. BE FILLED AND ENERGIZED BY THE SPIRIT.  
   Ask God to strengthen your inner man so Christ can dwell in your heart and you can comprehend His love – Ephesians 3:16-19.
