TAKING STOCK

TAKING STOCK: ON YOUR ‘PATH OF DOING LIFE AND LIVING GODLY!

“Thou wilt shew me THE PATH OF LIFE: in thy PRESENCE is FULNESS OF JOY; at thy RIGHT HAND there are PLEASURES for evermore” Psalms 16:11.

I love for you to know full well, that in Christ Jesus’ stead, God intends to show you THE PATH OF LIFE with His intended effect for our good. But there is a question therein, and it is for you to ANSWER yourself, and not someone else:  Are you on the set ‘PATH OF LIFE’ by God in Christ Jesus stead – that is to say, is your path being ORDERED By God in Christ Jesus? Otherwise, is your supposed path of DOING LIFE and LIVING GODLY being ordered by Men, or by the Circumstances about you, or by the enemy and his cohorts? For as to God’s intent, it is as written:

“The STEPS of a good man are ORDERED by the Lord: and he DELIGHTETH in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord UPHOLDETH him with his hand” Psalms 37:23-24.

As we travel through the various stages and phases of our span of life, it is imperative to take a PAUSE to THINK through the WORTH of the journey. It is called the principled acts of personal RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY; which equate to – the overhauling, examining, stocktaking and such like. Its essence is to help you, and anyone, to take on and carry along those things that are needful and necessary to maximise life, and to shed off those things that are unnecessary in one’s path to fulfilling purpose. All of this is for the goodness of a gracious and graceful well-being as it pertains to DOING LIFE and GODLY LIVING in Christ Jesus.

“But the path of the just (righteous) is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day” Proverbs 4:18 (Amplified).

You need not fail in God’s BLESSEDNESS in grace; hence there is the need therefore to determine if you are experiencing the peaceful goodness of the path of life you have chosen and are following. For such is to indicate God’s intent to order your steps aright, as it is written:

“The STEPS of a good man are ORDERED by the Lord: and he DELIGHTETH in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord UPHOLDETH him with his hand” Psalms 37:23-24.

Therefore I say SELAH – PAUSE and THINK in the light of the Scriptures. Knowing that God has intended to show you THE PATH of true life and living when you allow Him, let us also examine what becomes of the person whose path is ordered by the Lord God.

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:

“But the PATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS ones is like the light of dawn, leading and shining until the day is full” Proverbs 4:18 (LB).

“The PATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day” Proverbs 4:18 (NIV)

“The WAY OF THE RIGHTEOUS is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day” Proverbs 4:18 (NLT).

SUMMARY:

This message is a prophetic call to pause, examine, and realign your life journey with God’s intended PATH.

KEY POINT:

  1. GOD’S INTENT: TO SHOW YOU THE PATH OF LIFE

God, in Christ Jesus’ stead, intends to show you THE PATH OF LIFE — a path with divine effect for your good.
“Thou wilt shew me THE PATH OF LIFE: in thy PRESENCE is FULNESS OF JOY; at thy RIGHT HAND there are PLEASURES for evermore” Psalms 16:11

This path is not accidental. It is the path where God’s presence brings fulness of joy and pleasures forevermore.

  1. THE PERSONAL QUESTION: WHO IS ORDERING YOUR PATH?

There is a question for YOU to answer, not someone else:
Are you on the set ‘PATH OF LIFE’ by God in Christ Jesus?
That is, is your path being ORDERED by God in Christ Jesus?

Or is your supposed path of DOING LIFE and LIVING GODLY being ordered by:

Men

Circumstances

The enemy and his cohorts

God’s promise concerning His path:
“The STEPS of a good man are ORDERED by the Lord: and he DELIGHTETH in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord UPHOLDETH him with his hand” Psalms 37:23-24

  1. THE CALL TO STOCKTAKING: RESPONSIBILITY & ACCOUNTABILITY

As we move through stages and phases of life, it is imperative to take a PAUSE to THINK through the WORTH of the journey.

This is called the principled acts of personal RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY — overhauling, examining, stocktaking.
Purpose: To carry what is needful to maximise life, and to shed what is unnecessary in your path to fulfilling purpose.
Goal: Gracious and graceful well-being as it pertains to DOING LIFE and GODLY LIVING in Christ Jesus.

The path of the righteous grows brighter:
“But the path of the just (righteous) is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day” Proverbs 4:18 (Amplified)

  1. THE EVIDENCE: PEACEFUL GOODNESS AS A SIGN

You need not fail in God’s BLESSEDNESS in grace.
One way to know if God is ordering your steps is this: Are you experiencing the peaceful goodness of the path you are following?
Peace and God’s delight are indicators that your steps are ordered aright by the Lord.

  1. SELAH — PAUSE AND THINK

“Therefore I say SELAH — PAUSE and THINK in the light of the Scriptures.”
We are to examine what becomes of the person whose path is ordered by the Lord God.

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS TO PONDER:
Multiple translations of Proverbs 4:18 are given to reinforce it:

  • LB: “the PATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS ones is like the light of dawn, leading and shining until the day is full”
  • NIV: “The PATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day”
  • NLT: “The WAY OF THE RIGHTEOUS is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day”

CORE MESSAGE IN ONE LINE:

God has set a PATH OF LIFE for you in Christ. Take stock now — ensure your steps are ORDERED by Him and not by men, circumstances, or the enemy. The righteous path gets brighter, brings peace, joy, and God’s upholding hand.
